  1. We had a guy call a game due to mosquitoes. I had heard of this but always thought it was a myth. I recently talked to that umpire. He said it was a field that is known to be bad for mosquitoes and the ball was terrible. Late in the game, he suggested to both managers that they go home. They agreed. I guess it was an exhibition game but still.
  2. You ejected someone from the parking lot? Did I understand? If the game is over, I would remove myself from the situation as quickly as possible and leave the premises. If I felt threatened I would call the police. You should certainly write up this incident and send it to you assignor/supervisor etc...
  3. Hey "kid", Your post had a number of situations that are worth discussing. You seem to be quite mature for your age and that's quite important because you are mostly dealing with "adult" coaches (they don't always act like adults). Here is my two cents. As long as you are involved in this avocation, you will never stop being amazed at some of the comments and acts of coaches and some players. You can't control their actions only yours. When someone gets angry at you or your call; stay calm even if you eject them. When someone says something sarcastic; don't reply with sarcasm. When someone insists on having the last word; let them. Always behave like a responsible adult even if the supposed adult coach is behaving like a spoiled child. This way you will earn respect and never have to worry that you were the reason why a situation escalated. You seem to be on the right track. Keep it up.
  4. You scream "Foul" at the top of your lungs when the ball is fouled out of the ballpark behind home plate.
