I am looking to upgrade my shin guards and cp. My good ones were ruined in a storm/flood here and all I have now is my old Rawlings gear that is heavy and (especially the cp) less effective than I would like. If anyone has some used stuff that they are willing to part with, I am looking to purchase ASAP. I'm doing some softball and fall league ball soon.

There are a few pairs of Reebok Field Magistrate Plate shoes (low cut) for sale on eBay for $65 including shipping. That's crazy cheap. I ordered a pair already.

I love baseball and only recently have gotten into umpiring. I feel as though I'm doing very well, have had great reviews from my evaluators, and now have this thought in my head that I would love to make a living as an umpire. I am, however, 29 years old. Is that considered too old to try and get started as a professional umpire? I know I'd have to go to the Jim Evans Academy or Harry Wendlestet's Umpire school. I also know that these cost roughly $5000. Obviously, my largest aspirations would be to do it at the MLB level but I know how long and difficult that process can be. I live in Colorado and NCAA D-I baseball is not an option here (no teams). I know that this may be a pipe dream but I thought I'd ask for some advice. I AM married without kids (yet), though I know that they are not too far in the future. Any thoughts?

I have a Diamond DFM-iX3 Umpire mask, which I love. Well, I almost love. I really like the frame and the weight and the look of it. I HATE the pads on it, though. I have the silver frame so I'd like to stick with all-black pads. Anyone have any suggestions as to good replacement pads that are all black? I had some Wilson Wrap-Around pads (which I really liked) on my old mask but they are tan and don't look good with the new silver frame.
