5-11 IS NOT "SHORT". I am "short" (5-8) also fat as well. I don't worry about shoes. As long as they're black, have some protection, and are comfortable, it's ok with me. I get beaned a lot, but it just stings for a while. That's it. (What can you do if the catcher don't do his job? You just have to get beaned)
