Hi All, I'm a female umpire looking for some thigh protection for when doing plates. A few months ago, I was hit twice in the inner thigh (right next to my groin protection) in the same spot and it was quite painful and bruised for weeks. Any suggestions on what products are available for females?

Do you just wear them with compression shorts or...? Are they comfortable?

Softball. I'm having difficulty trying to source the chest protector, leggings and mask from America. No one in Aus seems to have it. Is it just because it's new to the market? The website you linked through doesn't have the face mask. I sent them a website form asking some questions and they haven't gotten back to me. Do you know any other suppliers I could ask. Have even sent an email to the schutt store itself - awaiting a reply.

The unequal is quite expensive. I'm also in Australia which makes things more difficult to purchase. The fastest pitch I would stand in front of may be 90km (55mph).

So nobody recommends a soft shell at all? How do we get around the hard shell being bulky?

good info guys. I still haven't felt anything that I really like the look of yet. I'm in Australia so it's a bit hard to get retro-fitted padding to make things lower profile. But still on the look out for a lightweight low profile.

So the blue material, Is that only at the front? Or does it kinda slip on like a shirt? And then just strap up? Is it relatively low profile?

currently wearing - X-Plate XPUCPL Professional Armour Plate Umpires Chest Protector

Hi All, This is a question for the ladies. I'm looking for a new chest protector for softball, but am after some advice on something that fits 'best' for females. My current chest protector doesn't sit very well and is very bulky - I look like a terminator. I'd like something a little more subtle and the highest level I would be umpiring is U17/U19 state championships. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nic
