Hello everyone,
I started umpiring a couple of years ago when my son played AA LL baseball. I found that I really liked being out there on the field so I signed up for more games last year in AAA. At the end of the season, I was nominated by the league president to be a District umpire and did several games in the District TOC and All Stars tournaments (all on bases). I am now running for the local board to be league UIC for next season. I have also been gathering my gear (buying as I can afford it) and will get my CP and mask this week. I have contacted my local AAU organization and am going to umpire in their league games this fall. I'm excited about improving my mechanics and understanding of the rules. I also plan to attend a local school in January to get my high school card. I only wish I could attend the Western Region school this fall, but I don't know if I can take the time off of work.
Anyway, thanks to all for the great posts I have read so far and I look forward to learning more in the future.
