  1. An illegal player on defense shall be replaced immediately upon discovery by the umpire or either team. If an illegal player on defense is involved in a play, and the infraction is discovered by an umpire or either team prior to the first pitch to the next batter of either team, the team on offense has the option to let the play stand or to allow the batter to bat again. 3-1 penalty
  2. I did answer the question correctly. Call the batter out. Allow the game to continue. An out will be declared each time that batter's spot in the lineup comes to bat. James
  3. Mike, Is the batter still at bat? If he cannot continue his at bat, and there are no eligible subs, he is called out. Then, each time his spot in the order comes up, it is recorded as an out. If an eligible sub magically appears, he can be placed into the batting order for the hurt player and life is good again. I believe I had the same or similar question on my test. I'll check it tonight. I'm fairly certain I answered it correctly.
  4. If B1 is streaking, do I eject him or is he and the head coach now restricted to the bench? Sorry, but "streaking" was not the best choice of words.
  5. If you go out there, pay attention to the speed limit signs for the park. I think they are 10 mph. Go 7 or 8 mph at the most. The Ormond Beach police love to catch speeders on road to the fields and I believe the fines are pretty substantial as well. Other than that, it is a nice complex. Enjoy. James
  6. Hey Andrew, Did you get my disc from the Midamerican Umpire Clinic? James Schmitt
