I agree with your point re: player skills. However, in Southeast Texas, quite a few high quality players do not play LL at all as they perceive that they have a better experience and training in select ball. We lose a lot of our allstars to select baseball the following season due to this perception.

LL is losing entire leagues to Nations and select baseball due to LL's unique baserunning rules and the dramatic change in field size from 12 year olds to 13 year olds. The 50/70 leagues are intended to ease the transition to the big field and allow for a more traditional brand of baseball than the Major League division of LL. It is a revenue question for Williamsport IMO as participation is growing in select teams.

It is Little League. Abiding by any rules is a shock to 75% of the parents.

I saw that email last night. There are going to be some angry $300 bat buying parents.

Ok, I received the mask today, which was my first order #7063. This mask is crazy lightweight. It almost feels like a toy. My other order has not arrived yet. So, time to tell the spouse to bring it in off of the porch while I am out of town this week. So, what pads should I use? Two tone wilson, all black Wilson, or some other variant?

They were Easton turf shoes, size 10. I couldn't resist them at the $11.74 price. Hopefully, your shoes are still good to go.

Our local LL equipment manager hands out throat guards like candy as the catchers never seem to be able to find their guard for 2 consecutive games. As a board, we order and pay for the guards ourselves just to avoid the safety issues and complaints from parents.

I received a credit for a pair of turf shoes on Friday, the 20th. Hopefully, that means my order shipped on Thursday or Friday. Orders #7063 and 7092 should be here by Wednesday. Unfortunately, I will be out of town until Thursday. That means the spouse will most likely have to take the packages off of the porch. I was hoping to limit the questioning.

Does he send you a tracking number when the item ships? So far, I have nothing from SOS. I'm not worried I just thought that I would ask.

I actually placed two orders. The first at 8:06 am and the second one at 9:28 am on 8/12. I have not received a shipping confirmation on either order but both were charged to my credit card on 8/13. Having never ordered from this vendor before, I don't know his routine.

I hope you are right. I did notice that the mask is no longer on his website. So, I think he is updating the website after the flood of orders last week. So far, I have not received an email regarding shipping and/or out of stock items. Now, I have to figure out how to beat my wife to the package. :2cents:

My credit card was billed today. Hopefully, that means the items will ship soon. I went back and picked up some pants, shirts, base shoes, and sun shade for the new mask. I hope that my order comes in correctly.

Right now, I have only officiated LL for a few years. I contacted Beaumont this week to ask about joining TASO. I am definitely a new umpire. Since I am now league president, I won't be able to umpire any of my league's games so I want to get more experience at higher levels and LL tournament levels. As player agent, I was able to umpire a few games last year. I am sure that we move in similar circles. Jasper has quite the LL teams.

I do it to get the item on my radar and check the reserve price. The watch item list is not enough for me and my schedule. If I get passed on a bid, my email and phone start blowing up which brings me back to the table. Now, once I have done that I go back to lurking until necessary to bid again. I have a firm limit on known retail price items. I won't bid over what I believe the used value of an item is so I missed out on the 2 platinums last week. So, the sooner that it reaches my limit, the better for me to move on to something else.
