Dropped third strike/runner steals home

Runner on third. Batter’s third strike is passed/dropped. Batter does not make an attempt to run to first. Runner on third steals home before the batter is tagged put for the third out of the inning 

 

does the run count?

Runs may not be scored when the final out is recorded on the batter before he safely reaches first base.

In this case, he was tagged because he didn’t run, but the mere act of a tag does not make the play a “time play”, it’s still a force out on the batter at or before first base.

Its no different than if he grounded out to end the inning.  Runner from 3rd could be drinking Gatorade in the dugout when out is made , run still doesn’t count.
