Now that the season is almost over for most...when using Covid Mechanics in the two man system did you find with no runners on base having an umpire in A position was beneficial or no?  I have worked with partners who just preferred to stay behind the batter even with no runners on.  Personally I liked going to A position just because it kept me more engaged and I don't mind running back and forth.  The only bad thing is a ball down the 3rd base line with no runners on...The ump behind the pitcher really has to move to try and get a decent look.  Although surprisingly that didn't happen as much as I thought it would.

Having done "covid 2 man" about 5 times now, never even crossed my mind to move the "home" ump up to A. Seems really redundant to the umpire behind the mound. Seems like you'd also give up the home view of a pulled foot.  Totally hear you on fair/foul. Even from behind the batter it can be hard to get a decent look at a bounding smash over the bag for the foul line you aren't already looking down. But at least you have one foul line locked down.

NB: HBP in front can be tough to judge from behind the batter.
