One fielder - and only one - gets complete right of way on the initial play. It's your judgment whether that's F1 or F4. If you thought F1 had the more legitimate play, then it doesn't matter if F4 was hindered by R1, that's nothing. If you did think F4 had a reasonable - not sure thing, but reasonable - chance at the initial play on the ball, then sounds like R1 interfered and should be out. Intent doesn't matter.

Runner on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs. FED rules

Batter hits a looping line drive, almost high enough to be considered a pop up, between the F1 and F4. F4 races in to try to catch it. R1 sprints to 2nd base, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the fielder is coming right towards his path. The runner never alters his course or slows down. F4 at the last instant before a horrible collision occurs, pulls up and lets the runner pass as the ball falls to the ground. Incredibly there was no contact, but it was about as close as you can possibly get.

The fielder would have had a chance to catch the ball without the runner being there, but it wouldnt have been a sure thing. I called nothing and let the play go on. Is this correct?
