I know that a traditional mask should be adjusted so that when you look down the mask "swings" away from your chin a little bit. How about a HSM? Should it do the same or should it stay snug? I'd rather find out now instead of in a game.

JC,

Unlike a traditional mask, an HSM should be adjusted so that it is snug - not tight, but "snug".

Mine had an adjustable chin pad which I did not realize until I complained about the fit to a buddy who used one. Play with the chin pad and the straps on the "back plate" (if your model has those) to get a comfortbale, snug fit that optimizes your field of view.
