I pissed someone off this year

So I'm going to put two stories in one post, that's either a funny story or a war story!

 

A couple of weeks ago I'm doing a sophomore game.  I'm BU.  Both teams decent, end of 6 score is 3-1 HT winning.  VT really hasn't done anything today, and we're at 1 hour 5 minutes.  I don't even want to think to myself, but a thought crosses my mind, this might be like a 1:10 game.  Top of 6 - 13 batters, 8 runs, 2 defensive conferences, 2 pitching changes, 1 offensive conference, and 40 minutes.  2 hour game total...

 

Last week, Freshman game.  HTC tells me before the game basically "My team sucks big time, sorry".  Top of 5, 2 outs, R1, 10-1 score HT winning.  Defense has just made a pretty nice play to get the second out of the inning at 3rd base.  HT catcher turns to me and says "Man, we've never played this good, ever!"  Starting with the batter who's up things just FALL APART for HT.  They lose 14-10.

I got an emergency call, from an assigner I get a lot of games from, to do an 8U FP softball game. I had never done one but I figured with a no new after 1:20 time limit and a normal game fee, how bad could it be? Coaches got together after I declared last inning and decided that since it was the last game of the season, all the girls would get to pitch. They changed out pitchers every batter and every batter walked. Holy crap, I felt cursed by God by the end of that game.

Had a mom at one game with her team winning by 10 in the top of the 5th say all we have to do is hold them and game is over. Team gives up a run.  I told her between innings never to taunt the baseball gods like that and also never to say this game is going really quick.  She got bailed out by her sons team in the bottom of 5th when they scored to end the game.
