Saturday they moved my game (1st of a DH) from 1:00 to 11:00  :yippie:  This is a college summer summer league and apparently so many of the guys from both teams were planning on going to the Tim McGraw concert they really didn't have a choice but to move it up.

Well Game 1 went 15 innings. Fortunately it was only in the low 90's because I had the dish. And unfortunately I'm too good of an umpire :angel4: . Bottom of the 9th 2 out R1 solid shot to the OF R2 was breaking on the pitch F8 apparently had a cannon and shot him down from deep right-center field and I correctly called him out at the plate. OOOPS. Had I just kicked that call  hmmm :question1:

The teams agreed to cancel game 2 so the incoming crew only got travel pay.

Sunday, was a much hotter day. I had the bases. Here we go again, extra innings.

Ump81 was scheduled to work game 2 of both of these games. So as we begin extra innings I'm catching grief from the incoming crew and so from my spot in shallow right center field I give a really pompous bow to them.

We had no base runners for a while. Then in the final inning the visitors get someone aboard on what I wouldn't even call a banger. The coach comes to pay me a courtesy call.

Coach: How can you call him safe?

Me: Using all my might to refrain from saying "Like this, 'Safe'" so I just say, "He beat it"

Coach: No the correct answer would have been he pulled his foot.

Me: No his foot was there, the runner beat it

Coach: How can you say that everybody in the stadium knows he was out.

Me: He beat it. We're done and I walk away.

Coach as he walks away: That's the worst call we've has all season.

Now my partner told me this after the game...

Catcher to my partner: My coach is such an ass he clearly beat it lets just move on.

Partner to Catcher: If that's the worst call you all have had you've had an awesome season.

After the game I'm chatting with the incoming crew and my partner. Apparently this guy has a bad reputation as a complete DB in what ever conference he's in that I don't work. They were giving me $h1+ for not tossing him.

I am physically and mentally beat after this weekend. Thank goodness no games for a while for me.
