Watching the Angels tonight and a Royals batter hits a shot right up the middle that hits just in front of the rubber and bounces high into center field.  Mark Gubicza, the Angels color man says the following:

 

"Boy, if that hits the pitching rubber in the air and it goes to a fielder, that's a fly ball out."

"Boy, if that hits the pitching rubber in the air and it goes to a fielder in front of first or third base in foul territory, that's a foul ball."

Ah, he knew there was something about a batted ball hitting the rubber. After that, he's allowed to fill in the blanks, right?
