OBR, team starts out with 9 players and has to finish game with 8 due to injury. Is there an out recorded everytime this batter would be due up, and if so is the injured players out recorded in his original slot or is the out recorded in the 9 hole?

I could not find, I have this as a potenial situation today, I am leaving out the door in about 20min.

kwiggie,

Totally depends on what "rule modifications" the local league has adopted.

Under "straight" OBR, being unable to field 9 players is grounds for forfeit.

Under FED, where a team may, by rule, "finish with eight", an out is recorded each time the "missing" player's spot in the batting order comes up.

I have seen some OBR-based youth leagues adopt the FED provision, others just "skip" the slot without any penalty.

The answer is all over the board. LL doesn't allow eight, pony does by local adoption and is usually an out. USSSA allows dropping and is an out. Really you just have to check locally

Michael, is there an auto correct story here  or have you adopted a new image? :rock

Yeah, my phone is killing me. I Swipe most of the time, quicker with a virtual keyboard, but it has some interesting auto correct solutions. I try to catch them but sometimes I miss it. I glance up to make sure I spelled something right, move on and it corrects to something completely wrong. :smachhead:
