AAU uniforms

AAU is relatively new here in our area. I worked with one of the new assigners, in a non AAU game, the other day and he had a question that I couldn't answer.

Is there an 'Official' AAU umpire logo?

Is there a standard color?

The reason I ask, is for the umpires to wear on hats, shirts and coats.

If so, where do they purchase paches, shirts, hats etc...

I worked the AAU Nationals down here in the past. There is no official AAU logo. We were given er.... paid for black combo caps that had "AAU" on them but even that was not a standard set by AAU but rather the contracted association assigning for them.  As for colors, if you match your partner AAU doesn't care.  Again the assigning association mandated black or pro blue but that also was not a set AAU standard.  From what I can tell, AAU is in the sports / event / take kids money business and definitely not in the officiating business at least at the national level.  They contract the officiating out and then are done with it.  Can't speak for local AAU organizations.

There is a hat and a shirt (it's the light blue with black trim) but they only need to be worn for the playoffs.  I have the contact info for the rep from Gerry Davis that sells this stuff, if you want his info send me a message.  It is possible that you need to go to one of the New England AAU umpire clinics to be "on the list" to get this stuff as you now need to take one of the clinics to be able to work the playoffs.
