First HS Games

I have my first two HS softball games scheduled for Aug. 17th. JV/Varsity Double Header.

This past weekend I was working with a guy that works a lot of HS games and I told him that I was looking into getting registered for HS. He said that he had several contracts but already had partners for all his contracts and would keep me in mind if something comes up. He called me last night and said his partner backed out on him for this date and asked if I could make it for the game...

Now all I have to do is register with the state and pass the test...

I am really surprised that High Schools will contract individual Umpires? Isn't there a conflict of interest?

Here all the schools use the same Umpires association. So the schools all have different umpires working the games so there is no conflict.

Our HS season is in the fall, and yes the schools contract with individual umpires then they get their partners.

Almost all non-conference games in Wisconsin are assigned by the schools.
