Pitcher's hat falling off

Just got through with a seniors game that went 10 innings and was still tied when it got too dark. Very well played and excellent pitching. I did have one thing come up however.

Towards the end of the game the visitors put in a pitcher who's hat would fall off almost every pitch. It wasn't delaying the game because he would immediatly pick it up and he worked really fast. The home coach was complaining that it was a distraction but I didn't think so. It would fall off well after he delivered and I actually never saw it myself while tracking the pitch.

Is there anything here, should I have done something about it ?

:spit:Good suggestion but unfortunately a pitcher can't have anything gray on them.

I carry black gaff in my bag. For those that don't know what gaff is, it's very expensive duct tape that leaves no residue.

Gray on the head is OK - it's the glove that can't be gray (and sometimes the sleeves).
