For those of you who would like to be a League President one day, with whatever duties that entails, here is the going rate of compensation per guidestar which keeps track of non-profit organizations.

These numbers are from either 2010 or 2009---- 990 filed forms.

What a disparity in the Eastern League President and his 2 cohorts.

International League President--------------160,000.

Pacific Coast League President-------------185,000 + 15,000 other benefits and deferred compensation.

Eastern League President--------------------170,000.

Southern League President------------------70,000.

Southern League Treasurer------------------50,000.

Texas League President----------------------84,000 + 9,000 other benefits and deferred compensation.

California League President------------------------------75,000.

Cal League Treasurer--------------------------------------50,000.

Carolina League President--------------------------------85,000 + 36,000 other benefits and deferred compensation.

Florida State League President--------------------------98,000.

Midwest League President--------------------------------64,000.

South Atlantic League President-------------------------96,000.

Ex President annual retirement pay till death '09----45,000. Believe this ex-president made 125,000 while president.

Remember, each umpire is being rated on their performance each game throughout the year.

Umpires for the Division Series will be notified the next to the last Saturday of the regular Season. (Sept. 17, 2011).

League Championship Umpires will be notified on the last Saturday of the regular Season. (Sept. 24, 2011).

World Series umpires will be notified the day after the end of the last Division Series.

Umpire notification does not mean MLB will publicly announce the umpires on this day. They have been keeping the names close to the vest and announcing later and later all the time.

Will any of the new hires for 2011 be rated in the top 36 and work the Division Series? Remember, the opening game right field umpire will not work the plate in the series.
