Walk Off Balk

Working a 11U Travel ball Semi Final game.

It is a well played and tight game.

6-6, going into the Bottom of the 6th.

HT has R1 and R3 with one out.

VT Manager elects to Intentionally wall batter to load the bases so he has a force at HP and pulls in the infield.

Now with bases loaded, F1 starts to pitch from the Wind Up.

As he starts his motion, R1 jumps way off the bag and is over half way to 2B.

VT Coaches start yelling for F1 to step off and this disrupts F1s motion and he just stops in the middle of making the pitch.

BALK!!!!!

R3 crosses the plate and I walk off the field.

No argument from anyone.

I can now check off the box saying I ended a game by calling a Balk.

Team that won on the balk played the Championship game right after which I also worked.

They lost to a walk off hit (Mercy) 9-1 in the bottom of the 4th.

Gave up 7 runs that inning.

Bottom of 4th, as soon as they go up by 8, game. So yes technically a walk off.
