Let's see if I got this right

OK, I was BU, and wasn't involved, but this is what I saw:

R3, LH pitcher, from the set "opens his shoulder" to third. My PU balks him. It's a blowout, everybody just wants to get out of there,nobody complains, I shut my mouth.

However: IMHO, this "open shoulder" rule stems from 8.05( which prohibits feinting to first base. Far as I can see, there's no prohibition to feint to third, so I don't see a balk. My question is, when he returns to "facing the plate", is he required to separate his hands and start over? I can't find a cite for it.

It is legal to feint to third but it requires a step. I am probably passing on a open shoulder unless he does it fast. A slow roll is nothing, a fast move is a feint and requires the step.
