International Umpires Camp Summary

Okay the weather gods were not on our side. The rain and cold played havoc with the plans. We didn't really get the amount of field time that was intended, but Tony Thompson and his staff had contingency plans ready to go to make sure we got every bit of learning possible. With one exception I think everybody was happy with the curriculum and the quality of the instruction. I also think the level of individual attention everybody received was top notch. By Saturday all the staff was able to call me by my name and not just because I was wearing a name tag. It's hard to put a value on that.

All the instructors including the pros were very approachable and were able to communicate well and share their knowledge and expertise. They made what could be pretty dry topic very interesting and they were having fun too sometimes at the expense of the students, but it was really light-hearted.

Bottom line I do feel like I'm much more knowledgeable in 3 man mechanics after this clinic. I would highly recommend this camp for anybody who is interested in improving their 3 man skills.
