  1. Yes I did buy it a bit larger. Was my first hard shell and liked the idea of having that extended protection so I went right to the 17". I obviously didn't take into account it might be wider in addition to longer. I ran it by a couple local umpires as well over the weekend, and they all made similar suggestions of going to see a shoe repair shop or something along those lines, so I'll have to block off a large enough break between games to get it done soon.
  2. So I've had this chest protector for 4 seasons now, absolutely loved it but one thing that has started to bug me, especially recently, is these foam flaps on the sides of the chest protector. I have attached a mircosoft paint image where I tried to outline them from the photos on UmpAttire. They don't look bad when I put my shirt on, just obstructs my strike calls and feels awkward. I'd like to trim a little bit off to give myself a better range of motion with my arms, but have no clue how to do that and what tools to use and then patch it up so that I am still able to use it afterwards. Has anyone with this same champion chest protector either found solutions to remove the pads or keep them tucked in that doesn't damage the chest protector beyond the point of being able to use it? My initial thought was to just cut it off with a knife then duct tape the end to seal the foam back up but wanted to see if there were any better solutions.
  3. Hey guys this is my first post on here so not really sure how this works but figured this is the same topic so will ask it here. Looking for new ball bags this season. Currently have these cheap Rawlings ones I bought at local sports store when I first started about 6 years ago. They're functional but looking for something that's higher quality. My original plan was to get a pair of the Force 3s without inside pockets, my current ones don't have inside pockets and I like that as I've heard other guys that don't put anything other than baseballs into their ball bags sometimes get their fingers caught on the pockets making it tricky. I watched the product review ump attire did on the Force 3 and not sure if I'm a fan of the material as well as how it may curl up with no baseballs in it which I end up having my one side empty often as coaches will never supply enough baseballs, and looks like it could be tough to get balls out of the bag with that material. What suggestion would you guys give for new ball bags? The smitty oversized look nice but the most balls i've ever gotten for a game is 6 and I like having 2 ball bags so don't want one that's too big. Are there any other no pockets guys that have had issues with certain bags with pockets? Also if I posted this in the wrong spot let me know and I'll correct myself for next time.
