  1. If you’re in a league where 85-90 mph fastballs are the norm, then you should definitely be using a force 3 mask.
  2. Working rec league game around the bases tomorrow and i was wondering where the best place is to put my plastic water bottles during the game. Some umpires put it in the home team dugout but I've never liked that method. Others stick it into the fence and thats what I do. Just wondering what you guys do.
  3. Stk004, That’s a real nice mask. I especially like the grey pads. I’ve got grey and black Wilson pads on my diamond ix3. Just wondering though, with a mostly grey mask like that, what shirts do you wear with that?
  4. I’ve been needing to buy a new chest protector for weeks. I bought the diamond IX3 and was not satisfied with it. I’ve been debating the purchase for a while and thought some of you might have some input. I’m about 5,9. The two CP I’ve been considering is the 13in Champion and the Wilson Charcoal. Input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I’m also about 5,9, and 160 lbs. I also need a new chest protector. How do you feel about this diamond iX3 https://www.ump-attire.com/Baseball-Umpire-Equipment/Gear-Footwear/Chest-Protectors/DCPiX3_Diamond-iX3-Umpire-Chest-Protector
  6. I’m looking for a good quality jacket for a low price to wear behind the plate and at the bases. I was looking into Smitty but they’re jacket is not for the plate. I’m wondering if anyone knows where I can find a low priced plate/base water resistant jacket.

I am a new umpire (2nd season) and I need to buy a new mask for fall ball. I have been debating two different mask which I should get. 1. Wilson Dyna-Lite Black ALUMINUM with black and grey “fonzie” pads. (Weighs 1.3 lbs) 2. Wilson Dyna-Lite STEEL with black and grey “fonzie” replacement pads. (Weighs 1.8 lbs) The only problem is I don’t want to pay $150+ on a new mask because it’s only my second year. The steel costs less but is much heavier, while the aluminum is the total opposite.
