  1. My whistle matches my basketball shirts, only because it's black. Six soccer colors, 6 whistle colors. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  2. NFHS softball only allows courtesy runner's for the pitcher or catcher. If the CR enters the game they are a substitute and are subject to re-entry rules and ineligible to be a courtesy runner. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  3. I was offered a range of $38-45,000. It's a non-umpiring position, no on field responsibilities. Basically just design the online classses and do some of the local regional clinics. Basically they are making the janitor an umpire. They had a pool of applicants, didn't tell anyone in the pool they weren't chosen and the re-advertised. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

    Conferences and DH

The conference rules in softball are the same. There is no DH is softball, the term is DP/FLEX. The DP hits, the FLEX is on defense. The FLEX can play any defensive spot. There are a few scenarios around this. Really best to review 3-3-6 in the case book. We have a good presentation on our association site, nhsua.org about what you can and can't do. 5. Does the softball jersey have any patches? If not, I'm interested! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  6. I apparently joined this site too late to see my own 15 minute seconds of fame! My friend gave me directions to a local business in their town the other day and began with you know where the high school baseball field is? And took me from there!
  7. As others have said, never get behind the plate without your mask on. If you need to take it off, get down the line out of the way and hold up the pitcher until you are ready to go. Step out firmly and tell the pitcher, "you need to wait for me" and they should get it. A good coach or even parent will yell out "wait for the umpire Jimmy" and you'l; be all set.
