The MiLB Umpire Academy will be joining the MLB Umpire Camp for a free one day clinic this Sunday in Chicago. The camp will begin at 10AM on the campus of North Central College. Space is limited and potential scholarships will be granted to possibly attend the MiLB Umpire Academy in January. Don’t miss out and join us in the Windy City this Sunday!

Abandoning Effort
Umpire Training Academy replied to Umpire Training Academy's question in Ask the Umpire
Funny Thunderhead. This is one where the judgment of the umpire varies so much and I wanted to throw it out there, as seen by the replies. A one that could be discussed at length and often indeed! -
Gentlemen, What are overall thoughts on when to call abandoning the base path? There are many opinions on this but I'd like to here some on here.

@RingEmUp We would love to have you come to The Umpire School this January. Even though you have a different set of goals than others that are attending and our curriculum revolves around a professional approach, we do our best to teach you everything that may arise. Our lead field instructor is a former professional umpire and currently umpires D-1. We would love to speak to you anytime, simply call 877-799-UMPS or visit therightcall.net. Hope to see you in January.

The Umpire School was proud to attend and assist in the 2nd annual Umpire's Day Out free clinic in Atlanta. Over 70 attendees got a taste of what it's like to be a professional umpire. Check out MLB Network's coverage of the event at YouTube. SEARCH: MLBUC ATLANTA. Sorry, the link cannot be put into this format.
