I read this the same as Fittske here. In my opinion he must reset!

I simply motioned the ball back into play then noticed he was still set. Confused me for a second and I went with it. I told the catcher that I didnt want any more crap like that and then dealt with the coach. The coach was stuck on the idea of a balk and I didn't have a balk. Same kid tried it later in the game and I sent catcher out to stop it before I put it back into Play.

I read that rule same as you did, and agree! Just wanted other opinins. I sent the catcher out and stopped this later in the game when he started to do it again.

ORB apply here! R1on first. Pitcher takes his sign and comes set. Batter asks for time and is granted. Pitcher stays in set position. Batter Steps back in and ball put back in play. Pitcher still frozen in set position. Not a quick pitch situation! Couple seconds go by and he delivers pitch after holding set for a long time. Never broke his hands. Batter swings for strike three and coach starts screaming for a balk. I have no balk here. Coach keeps screaming and I have to warn him to get him to stop. What is the correct ruling? Best I can tell there is no balk here. These are college level kids playing in ORB league.

Thanks for the comments guys. I felt good about the call, and so did my partner. This coach is a rather inteligent guy, college coach, and I would love to bring it to him in black and white so that he will see it in black and white. His complaint was and still is that if the bat was left in the zone it was an offer! I told him not so, and it just kept getting worse.

ORB rules. Had a runner on first 0 outs. Next batter (RH) squares to bunt early for sac bunt. Lefty pitcher on the bump. I am in field. Pitcher throws a LH curveball and strikes the batter in the left foot(one closest to third). Plate umpire kills it and sends batter to first. Opposing coach blows up and says his bat was in the zone. Plate umpire comes to me and asks what I seen. I told him,quietly, the bat stayed in zone ,BUT NO ATTEMPT TO BUNT THE BALL WAS MADE. And that the pitch was essetially behind the rh batter. Home plate umpire stayed with his call! Long story short I ended up dumping the coach for a very loud F bomb! I have had a very difficult time locating this situation in the books. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Very hard to tell from a series of still pics, but from what I see, I got MC and the runner is out. Runner is supposed to try to avoid contact. It is clear that wasn't even an attempt. Even if the bag is blocked, runner is supposed to avaiod and leave it to us to call OBS. I am speaking in the rules of FED. Hard to tell from still pics tho

I have B. The fact that the situation says a SHOT back at the pitcher, leads me to the thought that the pitcher was unable to attempt a play and it deflected off his foot. His chase to the ball is his first play. IMHO. I have B. INT. Shoot holes at me if you wish but thsi is my gut, and my mind are both on the same page.
