    Appeal Question

Good day folks New guy here with another rules question Again, it's OBR.... Runner at 1st. 2 outs. Count: 1-2. Clean-up hitter up at bat. R1 breaks on the pitch as the batter attempts to check his swing. The catcher throws and retires R1 at second for the out. After the play, the defense asks the plate umpire to get help on the check swing because they would rather not have the 4th hitter lead off the next inning. The umpire disregards the request because the advantageous 4th out is not allowed in this situation. So my questions in determining if this is true or not are these. Is the throw down to retire the runner considered a play? Does that play negate the check swing appeal or is this some sort of continuous action that still allows the defence to appeal the check swing? Again we are dealing with OBR here Once again all replys appreciated
  3. Hello folks, Been lurking for a while and thought I would jump in with a post. I notice a lot of rule discussion so I will throw one at you.. OBR ruleset The batter hits what appears to be an extra base hit down the left field foul line. As the batter rounds first, he stumbles and injures his leg. The first base coach grabs the batter's hand and helps him get back to first. Since the coach did not push him toward the next base, the umpire rules that the batter should be allowed to stay at first base. My thought is injury overrules coach intereference. All opinions appreciated
