3B Umpire James Hoye ejected Mets CF AJ Ewing (check swing strike three call) in the top of the 8th inning of the #Nationals-#Mets game. With two out and one on, Mets batter Ewing attempted to check his swing on a 3-2 sweeper from Nationals pitcher Jack Sinclair, ruled a ball by HP Umpire Sean Barber and called a swinging strike on appeal by 3B Umpire Hoye. At the time of the ejection, the Nationals were leading, 7-6. The Nationals ultimately won the contest, 7-6.
