Is there any point of emphasis for non adult "shaggers" wearing helmets? Does this mean the player who goes out to warm-up the right or left fielder between innings MUST wear a helmet?

Sorry: I did not read fully. Only during live ball play do "protectors" have to have helmet.

In Kentucky, during live ball play-not sure about rest of country, even the adult shaggers. (Kentucky calls them "Protectors") must wear a double ear flap helmet but adult base coaches do not.

I also work college, NAIA and NCAA, and base coaches must wear helmets, no ear flaps required, while protectors do not.

No consistency. I truly wish all the rule sets would unify one day.

I guess its sort of like World Peace; Not possible but we can dream.
