2 outs, runner on 2nd pop up to second baseman. Run on second makes contact with ss, coach on 3rd wants interference/obstruction.  Umpire tells coach since ball was caught and runner was nor played on no interference/obstruction.  Was he correct?  Thanks

Right result.  Simpler explanation would be that it is obstruction--and after the play the runner gets placed where the umpire thinks he would have gotten had there been no obstruction.  In this case, he gets placed in the dugout to get his glove because there are three outs.

Probably a good idea to point to the obstruction in case the ball is not caught.
