I've received a few questions as to why some articles have such a higher read count than others.

The quick and dirty answer is marketing.

For instance I have linked directly to my article in other sites such as ABUA & officiating.com. This draws in the most hits for these articles. Unfortunately, for me, these readers tend just to read the article then go back where they come from. Very few tend to browse the site beyond that.

Another thing which happens is that articles are emailed out. Each article features an email option for users or for you to email out the article. True story: JohnT's article on being a scheduler was emailed anonymously to the commissioner of my association (anonymous emails no longer an option, sorry). My commish emailed it out to all 120+ umps and many did read it.

So email out your article to who ever you think may have interest, you never know where it will end up.

When you visit the forums be sure to check out the articles too or even write one to be published.
