First Games (PG)

Got to do some Perfect Game games today here in Iowa.......two 9-inning and two 7-inning games.  It was good to knock the rust off with fairly high-quality ball.  The downside is that I was scared I was going to be rusty.......so timing and focus were of the utmost importance. 

 

All in all, my BU games were dead on.  My PU games were not dead on, but overall, were very respectable.  No pitcher threw less than 75 mph I'm sure.   The fastest were probably only high 80s, so it wasn't insane. 

 

I'd like to hear from other PG umps around the country about how laid back their games are or are not.   These were INCREDIBLY laid back.  I was told to call a big zone and I obliged, but it was shocking to me that I heard ZERO comments about it.  It was like everyone was on the same page......."the umps are going to call a big zone, swing the F#$#%in bat".    GOOD STUFF!
