I just saw this on Amazon.com.  I plan to buy it for sure.  Not sure when I will read it but I definitely want to.  Publish date is listed as March 25, 2014.  Just a heads up for all you guys who actually read books.

It may be a good read, but why does he have to use blasphemy and arrogance to sell his book? I think his name recognition should get him plenty of sales.

I started to comment about the title in my original post. I will read the book to hopefully find out why. For what it's worth it is my understanding many in MLB baseball did refer to him as God. Seems like overkill and makes me wonder if he was called that out of some misguided attempt at respect or was it ridicule for how he thought of or carried and presented himself?

The "greatest umpire" part also gives me concern.

Once I get to read it I will make further comment. Hopefully in explanation instead of more wonderings and supposition.

I'm pretty sure it was profound respect.

Harvey's nickname is "God" and it was given to him by the players out of respect due to his knowledge, character, and respect for the game, among other things.
