In the four years I've been umping, I've steadily increased the amount of games I'm doing per season.

Year One - about 10 tee ball games (part of fall)

Year Two - about 15 tee ball and softball games (part of summer and part of fall)

Year Three - about 25 real baseball games (all spring and into summer)

Year Four - about 50 games so far (all spring and into summer)

I've been out of action since July 18th. It's been painful. Last year, late July was when I finished until March. I loved doing this too much, so I knew I had to stay involved somehow.

Next Sunday, the 9th, I start work in a fall ball league... The assignor said he could probably get me four games every Sunday depending on how active teams stay. :yippie::angel4::nod:

From there, I plan on getting evaluated for a possible winter league job. Fingers crossed on that one. I've never been formally evaluated before!!

The important thing is though that I'll be working. I've picked up officiating football too, and while I don't like it as much as I do baseball, it is still fun. Every weekend for the next six weeks is Saturday football and Sunday baseball.

Can I get a Hallelujah?!?! :lol::P:) B) :Cool2:

Good for you!!! I'm grateful that I live in California, where there is year round baseball.

I've contemplated moving to Northern California when I finish college... Michigan winters suck in many ways. lol

as things stand this year I will be hitting about 150 games, but with a season that begins in may many minor leagues ending in august and the mens in september or very early october I try to squeeze in as many games as I can during the time I have (no early spring, mid to late fall and certainly no winter ball here in the great white north). At the end I am always burned out and grateful there is no more ball for a while.
