No tag on collision?

R3 never touches home, but no tag is ever made by F2, as he was bracing for the contact...Do you think this should be an automatic out because F2 didn't drop the ball or should PU have waited for a tag of R3/home? It isn't pointed out by the KC announcers, but it was by the whining Boston announcers.

FWIW, I think he made the right call... It wasn't blatently obvious there was no tag made, and if Crawford had touched home to be called safe, we all know that hell would have broken loose with at least 2, probably more ejections.

Call the out. No one is going to know the glove didn't touch R3 somehow. It is accepted to do this and no one is going to be able to see if the glove doesn't touch in regular speed.

In MLB (and any other league that allows catchers to be run over at the plate), there is a certain etiquette that determines what happens on a blatant collision.

All that's required for an out call is the catcher to hold on to the baseball. The runner must make a half-decent looking attempt to touch the plate if the ball is dropped (ie passing right over top of the plate in the process of laying the hit would suffice).

Not something most amateur guys need to worry about due to MC rules.
