Well, .......my turn! Foul straight back w/ a very slight deflection off of F2's mitt and hit me just next to my throat guard (yes I have a dangler) and just above the plate on the neck padding of my Douglas. "Ooohhhhhh" went the crowd, ...and it got quiet .......... "ouch!" I said in my head .....I look down...see the ball at my feet, F2 grabs the ball and me ...."you ok blue?" [good kid, good f2] .... "yup, I think so" I said quietly .... I walked to the side as the HC calls for a defensive conference [thanks] and start trying to 'feel' what just happened. I can tell where I was hit, but ... not too much pain....way less than I thought I'd feel ..... "ok ...this is good" AC comes out w/ an ice cold water bottle [hot yesterday... 90 and humid] .... all is well .... I walked out to the mound and said to the 'huddle' as the HC looks my way .... "ok ...what's all the messing around for out here!?" .... and we're off .... 8 innings, ... 2 hrs 10 minutes .... There's a slight red spot there this morning and it's a tad tender but ... no big deal.... My Douglas has the All-Star Delta Flex harness on it, so it sits up nice and high where it should [i make sure of this] so, it just goes to show you .... as discussed in the link to Culbreth's injury, and to mjr_2013's post the other day .... it's gonna find ya! Double check your equipment guys .... make sure you have as many 'openings' covered as you can pic attached is my Douglas w/ the location........
