So, ....
We have the first 2 games (out of 4) of a 16u Pastime Tournament yesterday morning at U-M's Ray Fisher Stadium. Game one was supposed to start at 9am, but was pushed back to 10am because of an early morning (4am-ish) thundershower that dumped a good amount on most of the area.
We finish the plate meeting, and as the home team takes the field and starts throwing the ball around, we hear " hey blue?" My partner and I look up from our respective locations and F6 is standing in the vacinity of 2nd base saying "....there's no 2nd base here sir!"
Sure enough, in the efforts of prepping the field and getting things ready to go, they forgot to put back 2nd base. We both meet at second to assess the situation to confirm, ....the F6 and F4 are standing there and I say .... " ok, that's easy, for today this area right here will just be "a neighborhhod play" ...and was greeted by smiles and laughs!
Hey, I thought it was funny at least!
