It's a great coaching job by the 3BC. During the discussion, I asked the following question:
Did you see how far the catcher came out WHILE THE PITCHER WAS ENGAGED? Isn't that Defensive Interference (OBR Definition....not sure what NCAA calls it.) Thus you get the double penalty: Batter to first and a balk to the pitcher--runners advance. Same outcome! R3 scores. Game over.
But the ump did nothing! I think he was gobsmacked like everybody else! And R3 stole home by a mile!
