  1. Whoa! The Under Armour tights came in the mail today, and they look like they were made for an 8 year old. Is this right? I can't imagine 6"1" son squeezing into these. They'll come up to his knees! I was imagining ankle length. Do you guys size up, or wear em like this?
  2. LOL! My boy just turned 16, and keeping him supplied with gear is still mostly mom's responsibility. You may have already passed over that fine line. This is an amazing community. My questions are always answered so thoughtfully and generously. Yesterday I bought some cold gear leggings, and ordered manzilla gloves. I've got my eye on a Honig's jacket, and a few other items. The boy will have a more comfortable season if I can just get him to wear them.
  3. Very good suggestions. I now see the value of all the layers. This kid tries to be tough with minimal cold weather gear. I will invest in some good lookin layerables. Maybe some quality umpire wear will encourage him to bundle up a bit more. TY!
  4. My tall, skinny umpire son gets severely cold hands in the windy, 40 degree, Colorado, double header, spring games. I have read reviews of all sorts regarding mechanical and chemical warmers. It seems that nothing really makes much of an impact for cutting the cold for the umpiring type of application (standing around in the freezing cold). What do you all use for keeping hands warm?
  5. Wow, thank you for the nice and detailed response. WV gold 12" from ump-attire it is! Thank You, A Grateful Mom
  6. My 15 year old son is shooting up a mile a minute, but he's scrawny. Today, he is 6ft and 1/2" He weighs 140. Has a small chest in girth, but looong. I do not know how big he will get, but it seems he has a few years left to grow and fill out. He will be umping 14 yr old games now, and is moving up in levels each year. He says getting hit in his soft shell protector hurts, of course. I want to get him a good protector that he's not swimming in, but that will allow him to grow some more. I'm thinking WV, but could be persuaded otherwise. I am clueless about what size, or which style to buy. Help please? I have read all of the other posts regarding CPs.
