A little mask lineup for you guys today. I’ve got four different setups, and I’m curious what you’d change! [emoji3595] Top Left — All-Star Titanium This is the mask I used when I was still catching. I still absolutely love the way this one feels. It’s got black Team Wendy pads paired with an Umplife harness. [emoji3595] Top Right — Honig’s Pro Line Navy Honig’s Pro Line frame with tan Team Wendy pads and a navy Honig’s harness. What I wear for Michigan high school games. [emoji3596] Bottom Left — Honig’s Pro Line Powder-coated Metallic Sky Blue by Tony at Mask It Sports. Paired with black Honig’s leather pads. (Shoutout to@MadMax for the color combo!) [emoji3596] Bottom Right — Davis Mirage my newest addition. Haven’t used it in a game yet but looking forward to trying it out! Man this thing is LIGHT. What pad color combinations should I try next? I’m especially curious about red pads on the navy Honig’s. [emoji837][emoji838] I’m also considering moving the tan Team Wendy pads over to the Davis Mirage. How much is the Honig’s jacket?

Easy now, I’m offended. [emoji23] If you’re talking about Michigan, then yes, we’re still rocking the mandatory navy… but at least we’ve evolved past the plate/base pay difference (at least around me). Even softball pays the same as baseball now. And I’ll defend patent leather too. I like how ridiculously easy it is to clean, and how it looks different from every other pair of turf or running shoes. Different in a good, professional way. Just saw an Ump-Attire Facebook post that looks like there is a black patent leather Mizuno base shoe coming out. Does anyone know what these are called? Are they available on the Japan market? Can we get them in the US through eBay? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking for some base shoe recommendations. Right now I’m rotating between two old pairs of the New Balance V2s (one mid-top and one low-top), but both are about shot and I’m in desperate need of an upgrade. I’m curious what everyone is wearing that is not advertised as an “umpire shoe”. I definitely prefer shoes with white accents over an all-black look if possible. Hey everyone, Figured it was finally time to stop lurking and make an account. I’ve been reading Umpire-Empire since around 2016 when I started umpiring at 13 years old, and I’ve learned a lot from the discussions here over the years. I’m from southeast Michigan and currently umpire both baseball and softball, from 8U all the way through high school. I’m always looking to improve and enjoy working games at every level. Umpiring definitely runs in my blood. My dad has been an umpire for over 40 years and has served as a USSSA UIC/assigner in southeast Michigan for more than 20 years. I grew up around ballfields and have been fortunate to learn a lot from him. Looking forward to learning even more, contributing where I can, and getting to know everyone here!
