Hi All,
Google is great, i type in "Umpire" and your site was the first on the list. I've read through a good number of the forum discussions and I have already gleaned a ton of good information. I'm relatively new to umpiring. In the early 80's, fresh out of high school, I umpired for the school district that I lived in and a few years later umpired the little leagues in Eugene. I played baseball all through school and one year in college, and then random softball leagues, so yes, I love the sport.
Don't ask me why, but 20 years later I got the urge so I went down and signed up to umpire high school baseball in the valley here and I'm very excited about it.
Any advice you all can give me will be greatly appreciated, especially in the areas of mechanics for two-man and communication.
We just recently had a clinic on two-man mechanics and I was told by one of the vets that when I make a safe call it lookid like I was making snow angels, so yea...advise away!!
Excellent Site and thanks in advance for the words of wisdom.
