  1. I turned down an assignment involving my girlfriend's son's 12U 50/70 rec team, because I didn't think it would be appropriate for me to work his games (we live together, if that matters). My assigner thinks it isn't an issue. I feel like it's a can of worms I'd rather not open. And I'd also prefer to be able to just watch the game if I'm available. Where do you draw the line on working games involving family members, friends, kids of friends, etc.?
  2. Has anyone else noticed this with Arbiter? I've started doing some games for a new assigner this season, who added me to his Arbiter account a month or so ago. I've had today completely blocked since Christmas (Xmas present of theater tickets from my girlfriend), but about an hour ago I get a note that I've been assigned to one of his games at 5:30 tonight. As best I can tell, since he added me to his Arbiter account AFTER I had already created the block, that block wasn't showing up on his calendar. And I had to decline the game, which of course annoyed him since we already had the "make sure all of your blocks are up to date" conversation. Is this an Arbiter bug? Or am I doing something wrong? I usually get all of my games from one assigner. This is the first season I've had multiple.
  3. I've been lurking here for a couple of years but finally got around to registering. This is my 5th season umpiring - mostly high school games with some Babe Ruth, Little League, and AAU / travel ball mixed in. I'm in Massachusetts, which means no FED rules ever. It also means my game yesterday was played with a 50-foot high mountain of snow in left field. LOVE this site, and love talking about and learning about umpiring.
