I'm considering the Schutt XV for summer use and/or a spare CP. It looks solid and the price seems reasonable. Now that Ump-attire is carrying it, that gives it more credibility for me, and easy return if I don't like it. Would love to hear about anyone's game experience with this CP before I purchase one.

Hello Umpire-Empire members from Nashville. I am 48 years old, and have been involved with playing or coaching baseball/softball for about 40 of those years. My umpire experience prior to last fall was a couple of summers calling little league games in my college days back in the 80's. I started umpiring again last fall for the first time in almost 30 years. I called about 90 games in the past 12 months, and have enjoyed everyone of them. I've learned a lot in the last year from training, books, other umpires, game experience, and posts on this site. Still much to learn, I'm sure. This is a great site, and I have enjoyed reading the content, but have not posted anything up until now. I'll continue to read the forums, and I may post every now and then.
