You can order the numbers separate from Ump-Attire.com
What numbers are the ones that go one these shirts? I know that it is not a normal colored number
-
Where's the best site to get the new style umpire shirts? I am looking for the light blue. Also, I noticed Ump-Attire carries the shirt, but they do not carry the numbers for them? Any sites that carry both the shirt and the numbers?

Hey all,
I've been watching a lot of games recently and observing the umpires as I normally end up doing when watching a game. I was wondering what mask is most frequented by the MLB guys? We talk a lot about the Diamond mask as well as the All Star fm4000, but I don't see these a lot? I mean it's hard to tell because I know a lot of them change pads and things like that, I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what they are using.I'm talking FM not HSM, as they are pretty easy to tell.
Thanks!

as we say in Maine....that TP looks "Wiiiicked Shaaaaarp" :rock

Here is a link for the Pads. Fiitske was the one that introduced those pads on here a while back.

Everyone likes the look.
Actually it was Alphonso Marquez
Actually, it was Alfonso Marquez

Play at first, giants first baseman drops the ball and has it roll to the dugout. first base umpire Ed Hickox (sp) punches him out, as the ball is fading away to the dugout, and then about 10 seconds later signals safe.
We have been tearing into the LL ump who did this, know one of the pros has done the SAME THING if not worse. No vid up yet, but im sure by the PM hours saturday there will be video on youtube, you can also see this on sportscenter.

I know the 'standard' for softball umps is powder, but does anyone wear other colors? Cream? Black? I am starting a travel softball tourney on the 30th and wanted some opinions.. Thanks blues!

Got em' today, and can already tell I'll love them! Never worn plate shoes, but they seem so light, and comfy!

I work with 9-12 year olds for now, hope to move up soon. All my games are on a volunteer basis, I'd love to upgrade, but that's not feasible until I start getting paid.

Hey guys, I thought i'd update you on my "gear hunt". Thanks to other umpires in my district and my LL, I now have the following..
(2) Heather Grey Pants (Dalco)
(1) TOC Pro Blue SS
(1) Dalco Navy Blue SS
(1) Honigs Cream SS
(1) Dalco Powder SS
(1) TOC 2010 UV Black SS
(1)+POS LL Jacket
(1) Pro Style Jacket; Black TOC
All star plate gear (Vest, Ultra Light Mask (sun shield) and shin guards, and I also have NB plate shoes on the way.
I'm very fortunate to have all of this stuff as it is only my second year of districts, but I started when I was 14 (4 years ago) and hope to do middle and high school soon enough!
Tell me what you think of my stuff, and what I might want to upgrade?
thanks guys!

WOW:clap: I have been umping since I was fourteen and four years later I don't have anything nearly that nice! My bad on saying I could use the platinum, didn't realize you donate to your league

Actually, I'm using a lot of that dough to upgrade the gear for my Junior umpires. I picked up two jackets and +POS plate coat ($40!) this morning on eBay. The coat is a 40R, perfect for a couple kids I work with. I'll upgrade my stuff, and donate my hand me downs too. I'll go from a Platinum to a Gold, and 450s to Reeboks.
I'm taking a group of kids to work Sectionalsl, and I'm ordering custom shirts for the crew. But I'll probably have some left over to buy a black plate coat too. See, I've got one more pair of those plate pants.
If you're looking for someone to donate your platinum too, I am your guy! haha

Just bought myself a pair of these for 71.60 shipped, from shoebuy.com, does anyone have these? I want to know what to expect!
Thanks!

I've remained pretty quiet on the The Officials Choice topics.
I have 3 of their short sleve shirts and 1 of the long sleve.
I must say the long sleeve has exceeded my expectations especially given I think I paid $12.00 for it.
Pased on the success of that shirt I orders 3 of their short sleeve shirts 2 Navy 1 powder.
They are okay overall and I think they definately fit a niche. As semperfi said they are great on those terribly hot days.
Here are the cons. They are not as well made as most of my other brands. They are thin to the point your undershirt shows through and you can look purple if you wear a red undershirt with a navy shirt. The buttons change colors. Lastly I discovered today they do not wash well.
Sunday was one of those hotter than hades days in the upper 90's with really high humidity. For my plate job I decided to go to my Officials Choice Shirt due solely to how light weight it is. I work my CK on the bases.
I got home and immediately dumped my soaking wet clothes into the washer. My wife took care of the rest.
This morning I grab my powder blues out of the closet as my partner for tonight and I agreed we'd wear powder tonight. The stains on the side where My ball bag would be still have a brown stain which I couldn't wash out earlier this morning.
Here are some pictures of my Officials Choice Shirt which is only 1.5 years old and my CK which is 3.5 years old and worn more over the past few years than the OC one.
#1 is the stain from the dirt. -- OC
#2 is the "ring around the collar" -- OC
#3 is the "Pink Buttons" -- OC
#4 is my CK
Sigh, Pink buttons. We have Polo Blue shirts that our district ordered us, and after about two months they turned pink. However I do have a Black shirt I :agasp_:got for 30 with numbers attached, the UV protection style and the 19.99 convert jacket and I love them. I guess you gotta take the good with the bad

Blue23,
I do not know what your price range is, however, I just purchased a pair of New Balance MU450MK shoes from shoebuy.com for $71.60 shipped.
I received 20% off and an extra for registering with them, plus FREE shipping.
You might check their web site.
I was looking for the Reeboks, but nobody has my shoe size right now.
I hope this helps you,
Tom
Thanks Tom, I'll look into it!

But, I need plate shoes, and I can't find any within my price range. If anyone has any plate shoes for a decent price (or even free if you can) that they don't use, please reply or shoot me a PM. Hey guys,
I've been reading the forums for a long time, and just joined today. I umpire in Maine, and I am in need of some umpire stuff. I am 18, and between college and other things, I don't have the resources to pay for umpire stuff. If any of you have extra stuff you don't use that you could send to me for a discounted price or free, please respond. I wear a size 13 shoe, a size XL shirt/Jacket, and 36 pants (waist). Thank you all in advance!
