Ok, here's the story. First of all understand, that this coach inparticular, i've had SEVERAL problems with, whiney, cry baby kind of guy.
Opposing teams pitcher has a nice pick to first base, all game long. Then in about the 4th, he switches it up. He goes directly to first with his foot (right handed pitcher). I thought he stepped off, of course the other coach is going crazy, finally we move on. In between innings the coach from team who was just in the field comes over and is talking with my partner about the pick move. Coach says mlb rule book says yada yada. My parter tells him YES, you are right, not a balk. SO, now i'm in a terrible spot, because i'm not familiar with this rule, when I spring it on this coach, he's going to rip my head off because he already doesnt like me. I always thought u had to step off to go to first? Let me show u a video of it, and u decide. (turns out he never used it again the rest of the game, but for future reference I need to know.) Was a 13 yo, AAA game btw
