  1. You have to be spot on Maven. The coach and I chuckled about it between innings and he said he was going to chat with his team about it post-game. That he had put it on his list of items to follow up on with the boys.
  2. I was doing a 10U competitive game on Friday as a favor to my assignor. First off, I forgot how small these kids were! It felt as though I was going to split in two I had to get so low. Between the two teams they only had 1 win for the season. Anyway, runner on second and the batter hits a real nice fly over the center fielders head. The runner from second rounds third (he touched) and comes home. I watch him touch the plate and I say in my head, 'he touched'. I turn my attention to the field and as I pick up the developing play at second, I hear this tapping on the plate. I look over and the runner from second is there and he is smacking his foot on the plate to ensure I saw he touched it. I couldn't help but begin chuckling and said, 'I got you on the 1st touch there buddy, but, thanks for the help.' He looked liked he was really trying to help me out and it made me laugh out loud after he turned, raised his hands in the air and ran to the bench like he just hit a walk-off. I truly love baseball.
  3. Maven, I don't think it would hinder anything but could it be a safety issue like throwing the bat is where my brain was headed? I wish I was near a real computer and not on my phone, I would look it up. Thank you for any info/help.
  4. So is there anything if there are no runners on base and the batter hits the catcher on his follow through?
