HP Umpire Manny Gonzalez ejected Padres pitcher Nestor Cortes (ball calls to Austin Martin; QOCY) in the bottom of the 4th inning of the #Padres-#Twins game. With none out and one on, Twins batter Martin took 0-0 and 3-2 fastballs from Padres pitcher Cortes for called first and fourth balls. Replays indicate the 0-0 pitch was located over the inner edge of home plate and below the hollow beneath the knee (px -0.75, pz 1.59 [sz_bot 1.68 / RAD 1.56 / MOE 1.64]) and the 3-2 pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and below the midpoint (px 0.95, pz 3.12 [sz_top 3.44]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Padres were leading, 2-1. The Twins ultimately won the contest, 7-4.
