0-2 count, Strike 3 on batter 20 second delay

Last night CBS Sports 

El Paso Chihuahuas @ Round  Rock Express. Late in the game was looking at SWMBO, while she was talking about something, but really listening to the game.

2 outs, 0-2 on the Chihuahuas batter, he's a rain delay between pitches. Pitcher waiting, umpire waiting, starts to stick his big toe in the box just as the 20 second clock expires. "TIME.. STRIKE THREE BATTERS OUT" AWESOME!!!!!!!

Of course the batter is giving it the "are you kidding me". Manger comes out, the PU says "its out of my hands, clock in the outfield had expired. There's nothing I can do".

I want that clock everywhere.

Punctuation and new content

I was at the park two nights ago watching these two teams, and it's the first game I've attended with the clock.  I found myself watching it a lot, noting how long players actually took between innings and pitches.  It added a conscientiousness to a formerly ignored element of the game.  I realized I liked it way more than I thought I would.

AND I caught a foul ball.

I love to to keep the game moving, but without a clock and support from the leagues officials. Well, after all the ejections your gonna hear, " YOU'LL NEVER WORK HERE AGAIN" and it's very possibly gonna be a career ending call.

I've been told that so many times I can't count...just umpire.  The coaches live out of the back of a U-Haul...you'll be back!  Maybe not this year or next year...but I've called in a lot of stadiums and on a lot of fields where the coach planted my tombstone just a few years earlier!
