I'm watching NCAA game Ole Miss @ Auburn. Ole Miss's LHP attempts to pick off runner at 2nd. He doesn't step off, he does the jump spin move and when he does, he spins to his right. I thought any pickoff attempt at 2nd, a LHP had to spin to the left, and opposite for RHP...??

A 12u batter throws bat after hitting ball and is receives a warning. Same batter comes up again with runner on 1st. Batter hits ball and throws bat again. Batter is called out. Should umpire call dead ball immediately, batter is out, and then direct base runner to return to 1st?

Runners on first and third, two outs. Batter hits a sharp ground ball straight up the middle, right by the pitcher. The shortstop makes the catch in front of second and attempts to tag the runner as he slides by. The runner successfully avoids the tag on the slide but also slides right past the base without touching. Meanwhile, the runner from third scores. As he scrambles to get back to the base, the shortstop applies the tag, this time successfully, for the out. Does the run count?
